Changing. Starting. Stopping.

Sometimes, life hits you like a sack of bricks. Pretty sure that’s not the expression, but it proves my point. I reached that re-evaluation point — brain fog, low energy, too many open files hanging over my head. Sounds bad, but it was actually a good thing! No really.

I couldn’t keep going, so something had to change. Things had to stop. Others had to start. That impetus to change has touched every aspect of my life, from my physical and mental health to my job to my author career.

While I work on changing my health picture, I have decided to stop scattering my energy and invest in the author rebuild I started last year.

What does that mean?

If you’re following the Kickstarter for In The Cursed Globe, you might have noticed a lack of updates lately. I’ve hit pause just until I get my feet under me again. I want to make sure it’s ready to run and to get the books out shortly after, so I’ve stopped splitting my focus.

Instead, I’m rebuilding my foundation by investing in The Immortal Voices the series that started it all!

I’m redesigning the series with new covers, and I’ve just completed a big restructuring and revision pass to Secrets of Green & Gold to address some pacing issues I’ve always wanted to fix. These will be foundations for me to reinvigorate this series, get them into libraries, release translations, and find new readers. It’s quiet work in the background, but I promise I’ve been busy!

In fact, I’m ready to show off some of that work!

Check out the first 2 new covers 😮😍. And I hope you’ll be with me for all the fun projects and changes ahead! 💜

(These covers aren’t out yet, but be sure you’re subscribed to my newsletter to know when they’re released!)

2 book covers on a gold background. The first is Secrets of Green & Gold with a dog and ornamental greenery over gold shading. The second is Shadows of Green & Gold with a raven and foxgloves over purple shading.
