I may or may not be obsessed with character art. Turns out, that obsession is doubled when it’s the characters from MY books.

Cara Ransome was always meant to be an average, down-to-earth girl who would be relatable to those of us who blend in but don’t always fit in. Her eyes make her stand out, and her abilities put her on a different plane, but she’s still an everyday person with normal wants and feelings. Of course, artwork is always gorgeous, so she came out perfectly stunning!! No wonder a certain someone fell so hard for her.

Wesley Vanneau is always serious. The Pyx call him thick or dense, not for his physical appearance but for his intense spirit. I feel like the artist really captured his essence, but also made him look on the verge of a rare smile. It’s brilliant and so him. Also, I’m so proud of him and this beautiful illustration because there is simply not enough indigenous representation in fantasy. I love the whole Vanneau family and their tight-knit support for each other, even when Wes doesn’t exactly share feelings well 😉
