Kickstarter Update 2: Back Cover Reveal & our Quest continues!
A lot has happened on the In the Cursed Globe Kickstarter since we last checked in — and I want to make sure you haven’t missed the good bits.
We flew past the 40-follower milestone, which unlocked the back cover reveal. And yes. It is dragon-filled gloriousness!
We’re also doing something a little different over on the Kickstarter — we’re writing a story together.
Every update, a new scene drops and you get to vote on what happens next. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure set in the world of The Cursed Globe, and honestly it’s been such a fun part of this whole process.
Last time, we found ourselves in an unfamiliar clearing with three gates. By popular vote, we chose to enter the green gate. Here’s what happened next:
Trial Two: The Guide
The Gate Keeper inclines his head, beckoning us toward the chosen gate. Green light illuminates the edges, revealing the misty forest beyond.
Stepping across the threshold comes with a cool wash down your spine, and a dizzying sensation that leaves you stumbling. The mist swallows us immediately—silver-cool, softening the edges of everything around us.
We turn back, but the Keeper is already gone, along with any trace of the clearing we once stood in. In the place where we stepped through lies a scroll on the ground, sealed tight. You scoop it up, start to break the seal, only to be stopped by the words scrawled across the rolled parchment.
Find your guide. Only then will your quest be revealed.
We exchange a look. The forest hums around us, treetops vanishing above us in the fog. Mossy paths fork into the gloaming, and we brace ourselves to set forth. The only way is forward.
When the mist thins, it feels like all paths might have been leading us to this place. For we are no longer alone. Three creatures watch from the tree line, still and unhurried, almost like they’ve been expecting us.
🦅The Hawk – Perched above us, its gaze is razor-keen. It sees all, and will lead swiftly, assuming we can keep up.
🐻The Bear– Solid and silent at the forest’s edge, its gaze is calm and sure. It will keep us safe, leading us with perfect memory of these woods, but its pace is lumbering.
🐆The Lynx– Half in shadow, it watches us warily. It misses nothing, will take twisting paths, and may lead us somewhere unexpected.
This was our choice. By popular vote, we chose the Lynx.
But where will it take us? What decision faces us next?
